Fundraising for JanayaA fund has been set up to help relieve the financial strain facing the family of young acquired brain injury victim Janaya Lehane, the daughter of Kathy Biscan who is employed at North Geelong Secondary College in the Attendance Office / First Aid. In March this year, Kathy's five-year-old daughter, Janaya suffered a severe asthma attack that caused cardiac arrest and she now has severe acquired brain injury. Janaya has been in Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital for the last 6 months and is due to come home mid October. The family needs more that $50,000 for a specially modified van, on top of ongoing medical costs associated with Janaya's around the clock care. Local businesses, sporting groups and individuals are urged to help by visiting any ANZ branch and donating into the family's special account.
